Take a screenshot with your game controller

Everyone's mobile phone

Make it easy to take screenshots with just one fingertip!

Since I am in charge of serialization such as "Teppan App!" That introduces smartphone apps, I have many opportunities to take screenshots of the app. I'm sure you're taking enough of your smartphone's storage to fill up with screenshots. So, people usually want to do it more easily if they take only screenshots.

ゲームコントローラーでスクリーンショットを撮る

As you know, to take a screenshot, on Android, the operation method is "volume down + power key" (hold down). Furthermore, with the arrows 5G F-51A, which recently became Android 11 with the OS update, the "Screenshot" button is displayed on the task switching screen, making it easier to take with one hand (hold down the power key depending on the model). Later, some of them should have been able to take screenshots from the notification panel etc.). By the way, for iPhone, it is "volume down + home key" (power button on the side for models without a home key).

Many Android smartphones can take a screenshot by pressing and holding "Volume down + Power key" From Android 11, the task switching screen has a screenshot button

However, I want to shoot more easily. Tired of pressing hardware keys that would almost use both hands. In some situations, you have to tap a button on the screen to take a screenshot, in which case it's hard for your fingers to feel sick. Even with software-like screenshot buttons, it is troublesome to have to go through several steps, and the problem is that it is difficult to take a picture at the desired timing.

So, ideally, you can use a Bluetooth-connected external device with a single button to make a cashier. I wondered if there was such a convenient method, and when I searched for it, I found an app called "Key Mapper". This is to execute an arbitrary operation by pressing a key on a keyboard connected via Bluetooth or USB.

App "Key Mapper" that can set the key map of the Bluetooth device

For example, you can launch a pre-specified app, enter boilerplate text, or open the Keitai Watch website with the push of a single key on a Bluetooth keyboard paired with your smartphone. Of course, it is possible to take screenshots, which is the purpose of this time.

With a Bluetooth keyboard, it's difficult to keep it on the desk and carry it around, so for the time being, I decided to use the Xbox Wireless Controller, which is a little more compact. First, tap the "RECORD TRIGGER" button on the "TRIGGER" screen and press "A" on the controller. Then select "Screenshot" in the "OTHER" tab from the "ADD ACTION" button on the "ACTIONS" screen. Finally, press the save (floppy) button at the bottom right to complete.

Tap the "RECORD TRIGGER" button on the "TRIGGER" screen and press "A" on the controller to record the operation. For the button that triggers the operation, set short press, long press, etc. according to your preference. Tap the "ADD ACTION" button Select "Screenshot" in the "OTHER" tab.

Now you can take a screenshot just by pressing the "A" button on your Xbox controller. If you set it to a stick instead of the A button, you can easily take a screenshot with your elbow even when both hands are not free. I really wanted to substitute a button on a small device like the security key Google Titan, but it didn't recognize it. That said, it's definitely a good option for anyone taking a lot of screenshots every day.
