Hurry up to 8K!
TCL was one of the first to adopt mini LED, which is said to be the next generation display. The mini-LED backlight technology has also entered its third generation, announcing the "OD Zero mini-LED" with 0mm between the mini-LED backlight layer and the LCD panel. It was also revealed that the 6-Series, which is popular because it is equipped with a mini LED backlight but is affordable, will also support 8K.
"CES 2021" will be held online, so I can't say anything because I haven't seen the real thing, but I have high expectations. The fact that TCL supports 8K means that 8K is likely to reach a wider range of people quickly. The problem is that there is currently no content that can be enjoyed in 8K. The 6-Series 2021 (with Roku TV) is 8K compatible, but the current 4K model will continue to be sold.
TCL also added a huge 85-inch display as the "XL Collection". 8K QLED model, 4K QLED & Roku TV equipped model, 4-Series & Roku TV equipped model and 3 patterns are available. Pre-orders will start later this year. The 4-Series is $1,600 (about 166,000 yen), and the price of the other two models will be announced at a later date.
In addition, the soundbar Alto lineup has also been upgraded. Wireless Alto R1 that auto-connects to TCL's Roku TV. Three models with Dolby Atmos support, Alexa, Google Assistant, AirPlay 2 compatible, Alto 82i with two built-in subwoofers, Alto 8e with 3.2.1 channel setup, "Premium" mystery revealed 's last model. Pricing for each has not been disclosed at this time. Alto 8e will be released in Q2, Alto 82i in Q3.
