Improved "Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe" landed

On January 20, 2022, Mercedes-Benz Japan announced the introduction of the "Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe" with a minor chain in Japan. On the same day, we started accepting pre-orders. Delivery is expected to start around February of the same year.

The following two types of minor change models of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe are available.

AMG GT43 4MATIC +: 13.1 million yen

AMG GT53 4MATIC +: 17.86 million yen

In each case, the power unit is a 3-liter straight-six turbo engine equipped with an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator). By installing an electric supercharger that supercharges in the low rpm range where the turbocharger is difficult to exert its effect, turbo lag is eliminated. As for the output, the "AMG GT43 4MATIC +" has a maximum output of 367PS (270kW) and a maximum torque of 500Nm, and the "AMG GT53 4MATIC +" has a maximum output of 435PS (320kW) and 520Nm. With the ISG and 48V electric system, the regenerative brake can generate electricity and charge a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of about 1kWh.

The powertrain uses the four-wheel drive system "AMG 4MATIC +" developed by Mercedes-AMG. The front and rear torque distribution is changed in the range of 50:50 to 0: 100. It is appealing that you can enjoy driving as you wish by achieving absolute stability not only when starting, but also in high-speed driving, high-speed cornering, and acceleration at the start of corners.

For the suspension, two new pressure control valves have been added to the conventional AMG RIDE CONTROL + air suspension with multi-chamber (one is a valve that controls rebound damping that occurs when the wheel rebounds, and the other is that the wheel contracts. A valve that controls the compression damping that occurs during this operation). This action controls the wheel rebound and contraction stages individually. By widening the characteristic difference between the minimum damping force and the maximum damping force, it is possible to obtain sporty driving dynamics while improving comfort. In addition, five types of drive modes are available, and the engine, transmission, suspension, exhaust, and steering controls can be changed in each drive mode.

The design features a long bonnet, two power dome, an AMG-only radiator grille with vertical louvers, a thin LED rear combination lamp in the vertical direction, and a circular dual exhaust end.

In the interior, there are trims that emphasize wideness, air outlets reminiscent of turbines, a cockpit display with two 12.3-inch wide displays side by side, and infotainment that allows you to perform various operations such as turning on and off the interior lighting with hand gestures. It is also equipped with an "AMG drive control switch" that allows you to change the driving mode without taking your hands off the ment system and steering wheel. The passenger capacity is 5 people, and the luggage space has a capacity of 456 to 1324 liters.
