Now Gaming is a corner every Sunday where each writer loosely writes about the games they played that week. It's the 306th time. It's still hot, isn't it?

The Nintendo Switch (organic EL model) is on sale this week. The impression in hand is the same as the previous model, but when you turn on the power, the impact of the narrow bezel display is amazing. It was bigger than I imagined. There does not seem to be any particular effect of the slightly lower ppi. And although solid, the colors of organic EL are really vivid. Furthermore, the sparkling effect is dazzling and the black is deep. It feels like the scenery has changed even in the same game, or the amount of information has increased.
Another thing I liked was the back stand. The conventional model was a bonus level, but it is wide and stable, and it is wonderful that the angle can be adjusted steplessly. This makes me want to play more tabletop mode. Personally, I feel that it was good to replace it, but it may be a delicate model for those who mainly use TV mode. However, many people may be interested in the new dock, which has a LAN terminal and eliminates the USB bottleneck. It would be nice if it was sold separately. by Taijiro Yamanaka
This week I was playing the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta. I haven't touched the "Battlefield" series much for a long time. I played the first game "Battlefield 1942" in earnest, and since then my experience of playing the series has been limited to trial play, and I can say that I am almost a beginner in the series. What I felt when I jumped into this work in such a state was a strong nostalgia and confusion.
First of all, the concept of a large number of festive battles remains the same. Aircraft fly around in the sky, and vehicles that hit the platoon in front of you are scrapped by rockets the next moment. The fighting distance is long and the respawn interval is fast, so there is no time to get bored. One thing that bothered me was the low visibility of enemies, especially in dark places and areas with lots of greenery. Also, in my environment, I encountered FPS drops and hitbox deviations in close-range gunfights, but since it's an open beta, I'm looking forward to future improvements. In addition, there are scenes where the map feels vast and complicated, and you can't keep up with the flow of the game. However, regarding this point, the concern that "I wonder if the author is old ..." can not be wiped out. I will do my best not to be left behind by the times. by Seiji Narita
I was touching "The Idolmaster SideM GROWING STARS". It is a rhythm game for smartphones of the men's version of Imus "Idolmaster SideM". The predecessor, "Idolmaster SideM LIVE ON [email protected]!" (Emste) ended its service in August, and was released as a new version on October 6th. It took less than a month from the start of pre-registration to the release, and I was surprised when it suddenly came.
In addition to the carefully crafted main story, I can feel the spirit of drawing the individuality of the idols in the details. You can communicate with idols through the talk app, and the app's profile screen is unique and cute. The Live2D standing art of the novel part moves beautifully down to your fingertips, and it's fun to watch. Athrun's birthday episode was so cute.
However, the live video would have been better in 3D. In this work, 2D graphic SD characters move during the rhythm game. The choreography is carefully choreographed and cute, but the predecessor "Mste" was sung and danced by 3D models, so compared to it, it's plain and lacks the feeling of a live performance. I wonder if 3D will be implemented in the future. I hope. by Aki Nogishi
I was playing the Nintendo Switch version of Hypnonauts, a non-field RPG that reminisces about life. This work is an RPG in which the protagonist, who was suddenly sent a mysterious device, looks back on his life in a dream. A story that traces memory may not be connected to an RPG, but life is a series of battles. The battles in this work are not only physical battles, but all kinds of difficulties in life such as carrots and green peppers, the bad guys in the class, your own feelings, Java and PHP, etc. I feel that human relationships are usually tough.
In the gameplay, we aim to clear the stage within the time that decreases each time we move, relying on the full recovery of HP by leveling up and random drop items. You progress through the stages through trial and error, but in this work, the strategy elements are in line with the characters, psychology, and environment. It seems that you can feel the character's feelings through the strategy, and I was waiting for content that would satisfy the high evaluation of the smartphone version. by Keiichi Yokoyama
I was playing Metroid Dread. It was advertised as the mainstay of the holiday, and I could see the high expectations, but I saw Nintendo's seriousness. In recent years, the term Metroidvania has become a genre and is gaining popularity. A word that combines "Metroid" and "Castlevania (Akumajo Dracula)", it is often used in the context of a side-scrolling action game that explores a vast map. Various popular titles have been created in the same genre, but as the originator of this title, I felt that Nintendo was really good at it.
The responsiveness of the operation that does not make excuses for "operability", the melee counter that eliminates the stress of fine shooting adjustments, the stage design that carefully opens the search area, and the E.M.M.I. The presence of. The difficulty level is high, but it's designed to prevent throwing, and I'm surprised at how well it works. The skillful use of 3D representation also creates richness and dynamism, enhancing the sense of immersion. Also, Samus is pretty cool. I like the fact that it tackles the problems of Metroid and the problems of Metroidvania games head-on, and presents unique solutions. Personally, I'm happy to see that parts of "Metroid Samus Returns" that I thought weren't good enough were reworked, and the context of the previous series was properly taken into account. by Ayuo Kawase
