BMW 7 series next model, scoop handle & curved dual display with touch sensor

The camera of the scoop site "Spyder7" captured the interior of the next model of the flagship 4-door saloon "7 series" being developed by BMW for the first time.

This isn't the first time I've shot the interior, but previous spy shots were mostly hidden inside, and many components were diverted from the current model. However, this time it is quite close to the final commercial model.

The first thing you'll notice is a side-by-side screen similar to the iX and i4 Gran Coupe setups. In these two full-electric models, the digital instrument cluster is 12.3 inches in size and comes with a large 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment with iDrive 8. Probably the next model of the 7 series will have a similar layout.

The steering wheel is also very interesting and you can see the metal spokes with the "M" badge at the bottom. I can't say for sure, but the spokes on the sides may have built-in touch-sensitive controls. The lower center console area that hosts the iDrive controller does not have a traditional shift selector. Other changes are likely to follow iX.

BMW 7 Series Next Prototype (Scoop Photo) The 7 Series Next Model is expected to be the world premiere at the "IAA" (International Motor Show) scheduled to be held for the first time in Munich in September 2021, gasoline, diesel and plugs. It is richly offered in in-hybrid and full electric power trains.

In addition, BMW has installed a V-type 12-cylinder engine in all models since the second generation of the "E32 type" released in 1986, but it seems that it will finally come to an end. Customers seeking the highest range will move to the "i7 M60", which has a maximum output of 650ps or more. The i7 M60 is equipped with at least two electric motors and is expected to exceed 400 miles (644km) on a single charge. All models in the family, except the RWD "i735d" and "i740," will be equipped with an all-wheel drive "xDrive."
