Also mentions mods! ? An exclusive interview with "Fallout 76" GEMSPA where you can get a glimpse of the reason why the rating has definitely increased!

It's been almost three years since the release at the end of 2018, and the landscape of Appalachia has changed a lot. For example, the author's review of "Fallout 76" Game*Spark at launch gave it a one-star review, the second a two-star review, and the third a three-star review. The reason for that is that it definitely brings a better and better experience to the players.

I think you can catch a glimpse of the factors that sublimate such a work in this Bethesda Softworks developer interview. I will post an interview that was held just before the "Steel Reign" update.

Let's Rock! A guy with a spirit has appeared!

Feedback on Discord as well as on the Public Test Server (PTS)!

- With the "Steel Reign" update just around the corner, Fallout 76 launched with the slogan that every human in the game is a player. However, the attempt was somewhat clumsy, and the result was a new questline with human NPCs divided into factions as settlers and raiders, and with great success. I think this decision was a big decision for a management game, but what kind of feedback did you receive?

Bethesda Softworks There are multiple places where we receive feedback. First and foremost is our amazing community team. They are essential in collecting the feedback you post on the Fallout 76 subreddit and on the Public Test Server subreddit. We also have time to read back the player posts ourselves. The Discord channel is also a great place to post suggestions and other feedback. We use the feedback we gather from these sources to help us decide how best to move forward.

We also have a lot of people at ZeniMax and Bethesda Game Studios who are passionate about our games (and the development team, of course). You'll also get good feedback and suggestions from your peers. This internal feedback is often the same as the feedback coming from the community. We are gamers before we are developers.

Prior to the release of Wastelanders, we launched a Public Test Server (PTS), which has also helped us improve the game. Being able to actually try out content and features prior to distribution is extremely helpful. Player feedback early in the development cycle will help us make more targeted fixes that meet player expectations. We can't thank you enough for your enthusiasm to play the PTS and leave feedback. The game is definitely improving. In fact, features such as Legendary Perks and Legendary Crafting have included many changes based on feedback from the PTS.

Updates that go beyond quest content

―― The attempt to add new human NPCs also extends to the B.O.S. With its sudden appearance, the situation in Appalachia is rapidly changing. There are new NPCs in the new questline, and it feels like the world is getting bigger and bigger for early players. This is actually the final chapter of the B.O.S. quest line, but what kind of expansion will this update bring? Or will it be a form of convergence?

Bethesda "Steel Reign" is positioned as the second part of the story about the return of B.O.S. In addition to telling the continuation of the story of the characters that appeared in "Steel Dawn", new characters will also appear, so please look forward to it.

This update introduces the Legendary Crafting system as well as new quest content. This allows players to craft their own 1-3 star Legendary items. Other bonus effects for Legendary items have been added, the system has been expanded, and Power Armor is now Legendary.

I should also mention the new Seasonal SCORE board. Steel Reign's new SCORE board, K.D. Inkwell's Escape from the 42nd Century, features the new Fallout comic character K.D. Inkwell. A highly intelligent human dolphin dominated the future Earth where she traveled back in time. They don't take kindly to humans, so they embark on a rough welcome... There are plenty of rewards unique to this season, including special power armor and weapon skins, outfits, C.A.M.P. objects, and more!

Gameplay improvements too!

- On the other hand, when it comes to gameplay, the mechanics of Legendaries are also being tweaked. An attempt to not only mine new Legendaries, but to make them. What kind of feedback did this come from?

Also mention MOD!?

Bethesda's biggest motivation was the feedback from the players. This feature has been widely requested for some time. However, the implementation is not the end. Stay tuned for more expansions to the Legendary Item system later this year. This time, a 4-star Legendary item will appear!

-Will you continue to expand seasonal events, such as Fasnacht or some kind of Christmas event?

Bethesda Of course! We are working hard on the new season event! We're thinking of an event featuring the Mothman Cult, an event related to otherworldly visitors that I can't reveal yet, and a new Halloween event. We will send you more information later, so please wait for a while. Of course, Fasnacht, Meat Week, and Holiday Scorch are also in the line-up, so don't worry.

- For example, "Daily Ops" is prominent, but the roadmap suggests more things like in-game daily quests. "Daily Ops" is really an affordable element that can only be done once a day for a short period of time, so I'm looking forward to expanding these and adding something equivalent to "Weekly Quests" so that you can play them. Currently, there are "gold bars" that reset once a week, but are there any plans to expand the weekly quests?

Bethesda We want to add new daily and weekly challenges with each new season, and we're working on ideas every day. Besides that, there are plans to enrich the content that can be played repeatedly, but this is still a little ahead, it seems that it will be next year.

-Personally, I tend to run out of Legendary modules. How does the development team judge the module supply? Also, if there are any reasons for the current supply volume, please let us know.

It's true that Bethesda Legendary modules are hard to come by, and partly by design. That said, if it's too unobtainable, we're considering making adjustments. We use internal metrics to objectively measure how often players are earning Legendary Mods. Unfortunately, that's all I have to say on this matter. (Smile mark)

--The "PERK" system has also been greatly improved, and it is now possible to "deck" the long-awaited. I am very grateful for this. I think that the “Legendary Perk” also meets the demands of heavy players. Do you have any plans to add more types of perks in the future?

Bethesda I have an idea in the works, but I can't go into detail about it yet.

Bethesda's Perspective on Mods

- We talked about decking, but I'm sure you know that there are mods that can be unofficially decked. Pretty useful things like inventory visibility improvement mods are born in the mod community. Any feedback from here? And is there any movement to crack down on mod usage? I haven't seen any mods with specs worth cheating in my observation range.

Bethesda Bethesda Game Studios welcomes the presence of the modding community. Anything they make, not just Fallout 76, is absolutely stunning. We admire your dedication to our work and your willingness to tell your own story and create unique features in our engine. It's no big deal, and we don't take it for granted.

We are always looking for ways to incorporate the spirit of the modding community into all of our games, including Fallout 76. The first step is the upcoming release of Fallout Worlds. This is a system that allows "Fallout 1st" players to change the rules, adjust the settings of their private worlds, and have fun playing with their friends. These new settings allow players to create an experience that is completely different from the usual adventure mode. This is just the first step. We plan to continue to improve this function in the future.

Fallout 76 is an online game, and due to its nature, there are some aspects that are incompatible with traditional mods. In some cases, it can negatively affect the experience of other players. In such cases, we must also consider measures to disable the use of mods that violate the rules.

Player-created mods are also dowsing rods that explore the "weak spots" of our game. A good example of this is taking cues from inventory management mods and making changes to make it easier to manage your stored items on the Pip-Boy. Over the past year, we've added tabs for item categories, stack weight info, and a "NEW" item tab for Pip-Boys. Without the modding community, these changes would never have been introduced.

Thank you.

Review of the interview

That concludes the content of this interview. After all, I think that what surprised me was the fact that he made a clear statement about MOD. If you are a fan of the series, let alone a PC gamer who loves Bethesda's works, this is an expansion element that you can't do without. I think it's great that Bethesda is aware of this and is trying to make the most of it.

For all the readers out there, it's worth coming back again, and for those who haven't played it yet, it's not too late, so if there's a free weekend or something like that, give it a try. Please. It's still a management-type game that's still in the process of development, but it's definitely a product that can be said to be "good for now." Let's experience it!

Official service for Fallout 76 began on November 14, 2018 on PS4/Xbox One/Windows. The price is 4,800 yen (tax included). *The Steam version is currently on sale at QUAKECON until August 25th at a price of 1,584 yen! The Xbox Game Pass version was also released on July 9, 2020.
